i have an old fishing reel and i want to know some info about it?
it is pretty old looking and it says J.C.higgens model,
311. 3172
thx people
It looks like it's going for $12.99 on eBay and might look nice on a wall, but I doubt I would fish with it.
I tried Google, but didn't find much on how to use it, or instructions.
Another J.C. Higgins model was going for 4 bucks, while I thought one was going for $99…Hmmm?
Apparently it was a Sears brand/ line of outdoor gear, including firearms.

I couldn't find much on J.C.Higgins reels. I do know that they were sold by sears. However you can go to this website and ask about more information on it. http://antiquefishingreels.info/FAQbrands.htm
Also, you can go to bassmaster.com and look for the section on "what's it worth" shoot them an e-mail and they will answer you back

not to sure but i collect a lot of old reels and they're normally worth a pretty penny. as for sears i have an old tackle box that has a push button to open it….now tell me how many people u know that can say they have a button to open their tackle box? even though it's not worth much it's still pretty cool.
