Otto Henze started his own fishing reel company in 1932, named the Penn Fishing Tackle Manufacturing Company. It was established on the 3rd. floor loft at 492 North Third Street in Philadelphia, renting space from William Schmitz & Co.
In 1933, Otto Henze started selling the Sea hawk, Bayside and the Long beach reel. The first reels was sold in February 1933.
